The GESI partnership in Guatemala offers the unique opportunity to spend time in several regions of the diverse country. Students will get to experience four areas: Antigua, “Colonial Capital,” Nebaj, “Mountain Highway,” Lake Atitlan, “Nature’s Gift,” and Xela, “the Highlands.” From volcanoes and hot springs to lakes and indigenous towns, Guatemala has something for every kind of student. Local partnerships in Guatemala focus on social entrepreneurship, specifically increasing the access to technologies such as solar lamps and water filters. Through a micro-consignment model of community development, students will be immersed in community consulting.
